Purpose

Sabre Insurance run a significant number of developments, which involves contributions from cross functional Departments.

Alongside a move to Agile working practices in systems developments, there is a need for business analyst support to ensure requirements are clearly defined, prioritised and delivered in a timely fashion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Holds discussions with stakeholders to understand their requirements and their vision for the development. Translate into business needs and communicate to the team members to make them understand the expectations of the project
  • Work closely with the development team to understand the initial requirement of the project, the scope of the project, and also identify automation areas of the project
  • Stock the product backlog to establish user stories that represent the overall scope of the project
  • Assist the business users establish user stories from the requirement models created during business analysis
  • Maintaining the product backlog so that it does not become a burden on the business users and the development team. This is achieved by considering purpose, organizing and prioritizing user stories, and splitting epics into user stories
  • Help the team to get a better grasp of the project and where it fits within the organisational strategy
Key Performance Indicators
  • Prince2 or AGILE qualification
Relationships
  • Working with the Agile Project Manager
  • Form relationships with peers within the industry
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • Analytical and objective thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation skills
  • Data analysis and mapping
  • Natural facilitator and decision-maker, enabling teamwork across different business teams
  • Currently working as a Business Analyst, with experience of Agile and Agile tools, such as Microsoft Dev Ops
Competencies
  • The ability to work well with others
  • Showing a comfort with quickly changing priorities, plus a highly developed adaptability and flexibility
  • A strong familiarity with various Agile and Scrum elements, including Agile planning and Agile project management with Scrum​
